WAN is a network for the protection of children and youth on the move, in vulnerable situation, within the ECOWAS space and in Mauritania. It is a transnational mechanism of coordination and collaboration between different actors in different countries for the referral, care and protection of vulnerable children on the move in West Africa

WAN has developed a quality approach, which consists of focusing all efforts on the child and including him/her in all stages of his/her care, in order to guarantee his/her maximum interest and to make the best decisions for his/her future with his/her participation

Mobilise and network actors at the national, regional and transnational level

Contribute to the collaboration and cooperation between national child protection system

Our operational management policy

The RAO is a mechanism for the transnational care of vulnerable children on the move in the ECOWAS region and Mauritania.  All ECOWAS Member States are represented within the Network by their national coordinations, composed of civil society organisations, youth movements and state structures. The Steering Committee, made up of the ECOWAS Commission, the National Directors in charge of Child Protection/Welfare of the fifteen ECOWAS Member States and Mauritania, is the highest decision-making body of the Network and meets once a year to take strategic decisions.
